Puntland: Saldhig al-Shabaab ku lahaayeen Buuraha Calmadow oo la burburiyey • Horseed

PSF (Puntland Security Forces) Bombarded these bastards with mortars in the Galgala Mountains destroying their Camps/Military bases.
They killed and wounded many, but official numbers aren't out yet.

Imagine if the arms embargo was lifted. We'd be dropping bombs on them from the sky non stop. They wouldn't even dare to go outside for a piss at night. Oh what a beautiful thought :banderas:

We'd be more likely to use those weapons against ourselves instead of Al -Shabaab.

If they actually hit one of their camps and killed a few... why aren't there pictures.

Usually that would be the first thing they would show off.

Seems like they just took random pot shots and who knows if any got through.

Always the pessimist :mjlol:

Yes, if we don't create a unified centralized army we would be very likely to attack ourselves. Which is why i don't support all these states with their own militias.

We killed 200 alshabab terrorists and burned their hideouts!

Miskiin Journalist: Yes sir, but where are the pictures?

Puntlandi Bob: Shut up ok, our bombs destroyed their bodies. U cannot find bones anymore.

Agree. That's why it's best to hold off on the arms embargo removal unless only one group gets to have full control over the weapons (as much as practical).

I don't care who it is as long as there is a dominant clear winner at the end.

Alternative options would just end up in a free for all with a dozen factions with heavy weapons terrorizing the nation for another decade.

I've been thinking of that. Say Al Shabaab is defeated in the next 2-3 years, then what? Are the different states willing to support the creation of a centralized national army? I doubt it. Federalism was a mistake tbh :kanyeshrug:

Federalism was concocted by our rivals. A united Somalia isn't what our neighbours and some others would want to see; either for economic or geo strategic reasons.

It won't go away anytime soon unless the President or someone else forcefully takes out these traitors and consolidates power across the country with minimal harm to normal citizens (i.e. no Saddam Hussein type dictator).

If we allow these state "Presidents" to import heavy weapons then that would make it harder to do so.

IMO Al Shabaab is just a distraction and a symptom of no one having full control over the country.

Even if Farmaajo had a decent army... Al Shabaab could easily hide in Puntland or Somaliland and bribe corrupt officials there to keep their eyes closed.
