Gaas stepped on Farmaajo several and Farmaajo keeps ducking him. He knows Gaas is not some miskeen xawadle or a toothless sacad federal state president he can mess with. Gaas might be fat but I dare you to show me a clip of Farmaajo speaking more than 10 minutes without stuttering.

As for federal regions engaging in bilateral treaties, Belgian regions sign treaties without the federal central government.

Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of the Belgian Regions:
Flanders and Wallonia

My brother @Abdalla President Jaalle Farmaajo brought Abdiweli Gaas into Somali politics. They've known each other since their days in Buffalo, New York. Farmaajo used to see Gaas at Starbucks at the time. Then I remember when Farmaajo was the PM in 2011. He gave his PM spot to Gaas then people started rumors that Gaas took money. 6 yrs later Farmaajo became and still currently is the President of Somalia. Farmaajo respects Gaas because they are brothers. Gaas greeted President Farmaajo on his tour a few months ago. Showed him around. Even offered Farmaajo to build a house in Puntland. And by the way Farmaajo does not stutter when he speaks Somali. His Somali is actually top notch.

Ima link a clip of Farmaajo speaking great Somali for more than 10 mins fam. Just watch.

Suttering is not such a big issue. Many great leaders have had a little trouble with stuttering (e.g. George VI, Barack Obama). Farmaajo is a great public speaker and he connects very well with the people which is why he became president. His stutter is only an issue when he reads off a paper, and this is a problem with many Somali politicians.

As for Belgium, it’s federal model is unique in the world and very complex. I don’t think it’s transferable to Somalia in any meaningful way. First, Somalia is one of the world’s poorest countries while Belgium is very rich. Therefore the cost of maintaining a complex federal system where sub-states duplicate roles can be handled in Belgium, but Somalia will need to rely on an economy of scale when it comes to these matters. Second, political elites and institutions are much more mature in Belgium which is why they can handle this system, which is not the case in Somalia. Sub-state leaders will readily sell away the country to foreign powers if left unchecked. Third, Belgium operates in a benign political environment, surrounded by its EU allies. It doesn’t matter if Flanders and Wallonia send separate delegations to multilateral such as these, at the end of the day the EU will not screw Belgium over. It’s much more dangerous to let sub-states do their own bidding in Somalia as the country is surrounded by hostile states.

You said nowhere in the world does a region of a country sets out its own foreign policy. I showed you a country wherein a sub-state diplomacy and foreign policy is the norm. There are also other countries with such diluted foreign policy

Mudane Sheikh, Farmaajo is a top notch guy. Sometimes in FKD you have to attack to set the tone of the discussion. It's not personal

Are you retarded did you not read @Abdallas comment. Puntland has the status of an "independent state" until the federal government finalise and completes the constitution until then Puntland will have full autonomy.

Guys, this argument you are having has been closed once @Yonis made this statement..

I am generally a Somali unity advocate and understand from a future view point that we need a strong demi federal/central government that controls Somali through relaxed federal laws.

However....

Puntland will remain independent of Mogadishu until you find the temporary constitution we drafted together that btw has been changed over and over again and again untill one day changing it was no longer an option and somebody decided to put the whole thing in his pocket and walk away..

Puntland will remain independent untill all matters of land disputes between people and states have been settled...

Puntland will remain independent untill the Mogadishu status has been clarified.

Puntland will remain independent untill villa Somalia is actually managed by Somalis

Puntland will remain independent untill we are at a stage where we can cooperate for the benefits of the country in its entirety..

And we will never ever sideline UAE..if you want to kick out UAE because Turkey is heavily invested in Mogadishu thats your choice but don't be silly expecting sheeps..

At this point, im tired with these people and thier never ending centralism nonsense. If we had an arrangement where the rest of the country can go under a central government and we retain our autonomy, im cool with that personally.

My Hooyo remembers clearly when she and her family were kicked out of the capital they worked so hard to build, only for it to be destroyed. The houses they owned in Xamar can’t even be sold even though it belongs to them legally. The northerns left their homes to build the south, only to be kicked out and killed. Now that they built up the north, they want unity?:bell:

As @Bohol said northerners specially Isaaq were not targeted the people that were targeted most were Marehan followed by dhulbahante and even dhulbahante had to claim Isaaq to survive :ummhmm:
