The problem is qabiil because if it didn't exist how could qabyaalad? Make qabii illegal completely.
Exactly, we need to eradicate the root cause of qabyalad which is qabiil. Way too many people on here are excusing qabiil & claim qabyalad can be stopped whilst still clinging on to qabiil...

Who invited the xabashis in to Mogadishu? Majeerteen
Who invited Amisom in to Mogadishu?
Majeerteen
Who is suffering? Hawiye, Dir and Raxanweyne
Who sided with Italy against the Somalis? Majeerteens
Who went against the religion and enslaved muslims (Hawiyes)? Majeerteen
Who aided the British and Italians against the Darwish? Majeerteen

the list is long ...

Majeerteen is a malignant tumour that needs to be cut of before it spreads.

1. Kacaan regime suppressed qabil (obviously until late 80s early 90s)

2. Kacaan regime has been toppled

3. Qabil will never be supressed again

4. Therefore you have to accomodate qabil states or plunge somalia into yet another civil war
Look at this rubbish. The kacaan govt empowered qabils. It played divide and rule.

MJs and Harti were the backbone of the dervish state, theres even fortresses from the dervish state in Eyl Puntland today. Tell me wheres the Dervish buildings in Burco Berbera Hargeisa ???????

It was Isaaqs insitigated by the British Empire that brought down the Dervish state not MJs, where you get these lies from.

It's always the Isaaq, everything Somalis build they destroy, from the fortress of Sayyid Abdallah Hassan who united somalis to the Siad regime its always the same clan that works against somali interest

Which rebel group tried to take out siaad first? It was the SSDF (majeerteens) in 1978. They tried to take out the government after we lost the war in 77. It was very snake like and unpatriotic.

Again you're talking rubbish. The dervish state was made up of all qabils. He had soo many Habar jeclo/ aaden madoobe generals.

These isaaqs want us to believe that all those SNM terrorists that reeked havoc in northern somalia are heroes but general morgan who put them in their place is somehow the bad guy. :ileycry::ileycry::ileycry:

@SOMALI GENERAL Just from reading through this thread I think you got your answer sxb.

There are kids on here defending genocides and atrocities that literally occurred before they were born, just because mommy and daddy told them that those people deserved it. I hate to admit it but the future looks bleak for our people.

The future looks very bleak indeed sxb. I genuinely don't think Somalia will exist in the next 50 years if the current trend continues. If we don't get our act together, future generations will be speaking Amharic & identify themselves as "Ethio-Somalis".
:francis:

Somalis can't see anything beyond what's in front of them. If they see a successful Somali state they will support it, otherwise they will cling to their qabil for support because that is all they really know.

Somali government shouldn't be based on qabil but recognize it use and combat it.

Qabil is at its core a pre-modern welfare state and source of identity for a fracture society, and with that in mind the government should look to include Qabil in state building and gain credibility.

I suggest that the upper-house have fewer powers and is populated by all the qabils of Somalia and act as House of Commons, and let the elected House do most of governance.

It should be a slow transition from Qabil as a credible welfare state is build and more importantly government institutions that have trust. See it as a 30 year transition and not a quick fix.

@SOMALI GENERAL Sxb even though I think qabil will never die, I think there are some things that Somalis can do to help eradicate the negative effects of tribalism.

I know people on this site love to bash on Somaliland, but I think we can learn a practical example of the way forward for the rest of Somalia from the peace process of reconciliation that occurred there between 1991 and 1993. This is part of our xeer and dhaqan to settle our disputes between brothers, and I think that all Somalis could learn from this model. Even with all the bad blood that existed from people literally butchering their reer abti's, the clans in the north did a good job of reconciling with their neighbours after all the mistrust from the kacaan era where neighbours were pitted against each other.

Take a look at all the conferences here:

I think this and disarmament of all clan milita were the best things done by the SL administration, and the reason why the region is stable today. I'd hope all Somalis learn from this model and implement it in their regions.

@SOMALI GENERAL

:mjhaps:Relax with Annexation boogieman and focus on your State.

Somalia for millennia has favoured merchants who compete in commerce instead of the battlefield.

Everyone is in the safety and territory of thier Qabil. Let's see what the Somali market decides and shows how statehood will trump qabilhood

I don't think this site or any other site really reflects our people though. If you look at YouTube comment sections of other groups or most forums you see this kind of filth. I think it's the internet that gasses up the scum of the earth.

I am completely tired of Somaliland loving individuals on this site. We can not have Somalia if this nonsense continues.

Correct :yousmart:

I think they can coexist as history has shown it before But it will take a lot before the mistrust among the clans disappears. Somalis need very passionate nationalism since it is the only cure to qabilism and by that I mean institutionalized nationalism where the child grows with it from young age. This happened in Siad Barre era especially in early 70's and 80's.
