Since post civil war SL, these two clans would avoid each other, due to the unresolvable issues and focus or distract on ssc, makhir, pl, awdal, Mogadishu. But this brought them.face to face and I wouldn't be suprised if something happens there.
Without elections Somaliland wouldn't have survived it would be like most where 1 group would've had the power and the rest would've constantly rebelled.
Atleast with this there is some hope for change every few years.
Instead of hating look to your own, people that wave the blue flag have never voted in their life. Whereas everyone born post 91 have voted multiple times.

the only good thing with whatever democracy there is in SL is that it gives everyday people the illusion that they have power, so they’re less likely to pick up arms.

both the pre- and post-election behaviour of reer SL shows there is deep frustration over nolosha in SL. I genuinely hope Cirro finds a way to deal with that the next few years, to avoid violence.
Opposition will obvs seek to exploit that frustration
You know what people know? That chimping out isn't going to magically solve problems. Somaliland has been in much worse shape than today and with support and recognition we can achieve something like a normal country.

It doesn’t matter if you have a say in who gets to lead ur country or not.. if it doesn’t translate to development
It’s only so many electioncycles without progress (that is felt by and reaches everyday ppl) before ppl become disillusioned with the system and resort to violence. U can get away with this calacal democracy (and pretending like voting is the be-all and end-all ) in firstworld countries where the average person atleast has a job and his most basic needs met (or basic services are somewhat attainable). But if u have nothing and the state offers u nothing, and u’ve lost hope in future elected ppl delivering something .. many wouldn’t hesitate to chimp out.
