How are women with no husband or men in their family or the ones being financially abused meant to earn a living? That has never been the case in Islamic history. Women having businesses and selling stuff is well documented in Medina.
They’re creating a slave class at this point. No education, no money and the only way to survive is through one’s master. Slavery is clearly thriving in Afghanistan.

Probably not. Taliban are influenced by their native Pashto culture. Al-Shaytan despite their extremism are still influenced by Somali culture and the idea of women being invisible in society is just unSomali and probably not what they envision for their ideal state. I think their Somali outlook will still allow for women to be out earning money and running errands, but misogyny will simply rear it’s ugly head in a different way through different policies that will make the life of average Somali women a nightmare.
All of these terrible orgs are still very much influenced by their environment. The idea of a pure Islam, divorced from culture is a myth. Sometimes groups mix Islam with harmful aspects of their culture and sometimes they consciously try to only combine it with the positives of their culture that doesn’t harm the weak. Either way, culture plays a big role and you can even see it with Islamic fiqh rulings though-out the centuries.

Selling/shopkeeping is one of the major sources of income for women in most unindustrialized Muslim countries. A dignified way to own your own labour and make a living. From Somalia to Egypt, Indonesia to Senegal - you'll see older women selling anything from tea to gold in every market. This will be devastating to them. You don't want women working with men, you don't want them to earn their own living with dignity- what do you want? Prostitution? I hope & pray they have a change of mind and are not blinded by dogma. Even if it is their culture, these attitudes will spread among the "radical " Muslims worldwide ( as we've seen before) we cannot let them pass these things off as religiosity.

The women were not wearing proper hijab, it is pretty simple, if they wore proper hijab their business would not be closed down
Everyone in Afghanistan currently wears proper hijab. By law, they all have to wear jilbaab and niqab. That isn’t an excuse as they can easily enforce proper hijab without having to close down anything.
People will automatically follow the rulings if it means interfering with their livelihood. Money is important and that will always be the biggest motivator.

Wallahi, it’s scary how so many men will make excuses for this. Women really need to understand that their rights can easily be snatched away and hardly any of these guys will care. They’ll make excuses whilst you’re left oppressed and penniless.
I won't comment until I get more more context of the situation, I also heard someone say this twitter user is an unreliable source and a hater of Islam.
Hijab is compulsory there, hardly anyone is walking around with no niqab let alone no jilbaab and niqab isn’t even compulsory in Islam.
