Let me give you a timeline. I have been researching this since 2020. I have been in groupchats with countless oromos, Ethiopians and I have talked with many oromos over twitter. I have read lots of books on jstor, google scholar and generally the internet.
1500s The Adal was fighting with the Abyssinians. You can read the book futuh al habasha but be careful, there is a falsefied translation and a heavily edited one by an Ethiopian revisionist. I dont have the pdf but try looking at archive and check the name of the author. So the Adal was fighting the Abyssinians for 500 years. Probably 200 years after Somalis converted to Islam in the 7th century. We have had the Walashma Dynasty, the Ifat dynasty that predates the Adal 500 years. So you need to understand that there were no Oromos this period. It was only after the aftermath of the Adal conquering almost 90% of Abyssinia, Portugal intervening, Ahmed Gurey getting killed and both Abyssnians and Somalis worn out that the Borona who are the pure Oromo expanded from Southern Ethiopia bordering Kenya into Bale, then Hararghe and so forth. Oromos are Somalis, Sidamas, who lived there in Bale who have been oromized by the Borana. You cannot find any mentions of Oromos before the 16th century I dare anyone to find me any mentions of Oromo. The word galla has many theories maybe it was the name of an lake, or it comes from the Somali word Gaal, not to be confused with Gaal that can also mean camel written as geel. This is why many somali cities like Gaalkacyo and a tribe called Gaaljeceel means camel. Gaaljeceel cannot mean foreigner/infidel lover. As for Somalis the oldest reference is 9th century papuli written and described by chinese explorers. We were referred as Berbers too this is why we have a city called Berbera. So we been around thousands and thousands of years prove being our haplogroup. So for some assimilated people with no history before 16th century as who they claim to be, then they have zero rights to revision our history. This is why Oromos are more dangerous than Tigrayans and Amharas. At least habeshas do not claim our land, they honest and they just want to conquer us and convert us to Christianity.
I am no ethno nationalist btw. Oromos are they all believe in Oromumma that is oromo nationalism, wether Muslim or Christian they all believe in it. I have talked with many Oromo Muslims and they all love their christian Oromos more than Muslim Somalis, Afars and Habeshas. This is why they are so dangerous, as dangerous as Bantu christians who also genocided millions of different ethnic groups(Bantu Expansion).

We dont need to unite. 1 clan can handle y'all. 1 sub tribe is keeping a whole ethnicity the Afars at bay and 1 little tribe is expanding to the Tana River. There is no conflict in Hararghe/no genocide, etc. It's been peaceful in the east, for quite a while, Alhamdulilah.
