The oromo question.

The oromo were in what is known as Ethiopia before our so called expansion in the 16th century though. Refer to this,

So that’s it? They moved into different lands. That’s the notable thing you was able to find for us.

Guys, lets not be harsh to them, many of them are our fellow muslim.

What we need to is play their game and assimilate them. Its infuriating that somalis do not assimilate related groups, all cushitics should become somalis.

Don't use the muslim card here at least try using it for your fellow somalis first before calling for a greater muslim unity.

I have called for somali unity for a longtime sxb, you are mistaking me for someone else. I also dislike excessive cunsurnimo towards any group and to especially those who are mostly muslim. The harsh language meeshaan laga isticmaalo ma fiicno but it is what it is.

Also my plan is the best. We must assimilate all cushitics for longlasting peace.

There is no harsh language in here really, it's but a simple banter that's all. You really think somali can be cunsuri towards oromos? At most you could say it's nothing more than ethnic tension or ethnic rivalry.

Also my plan is the best. We must assimilate all cushitics for longlasting peace.
No assimilation is needed neither by oromos or somalis. All you need is civility and good neighbourly conduct but hey maybe this is naivety on my part and we actually need a different approach for true peace.

we were planning our migration there boraana took the south while barentu took the north and east we planned it accordingly
You planned it as much as the Bantu’s planned their expansion. You can try and intellectualise it and make it seem like a 4D chess move but we all know it was just a simple plan of attack when the two empires were weakest.

If Adal or Abbysinya was not at their weakest you guys would’ve been annihilated.

Oromos didn’t even if the empires were weakened also we were attacking the Adal empire when imam Ahmed ibn Ibrahim Al ghazi was alive

Either way you guys were the opportunistic vultures of the horn.

The original oromos are borana.
Many assimilated oromos from the east have been at the forefront against the jihads against abbysinia.

Both sides were attacking and competing with oromos for land, water, etc. both sides had modern firearms from europe and the turks, while oromos had our horses and just ourselves... and yet we still managed to hold our own. anyone not blinded by hate of us, would see that and admit it was amazing. but hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your hatred for us bro. :D

Cope man stop crying the past is the past lol
You’re right I can’t change the past but I just want you to know your people are a civilisation black hole which has nothing worth of value except having children or expanding.

If that land were to stay Amhara or Somali/Other Muslim ethnicities in Adal there would’ve been many monuments erected that would have been too complicated for your ancestors to try and re attempt.

Let me quote the wise words of @Three Moons as any new words wasted on you would be a tragedy.
After the Adal-Abyssinian war both groups had to deal with the Oromo for the next century. This new enemy did not engage armies in a conventional way the way Adal and Abyssinia traditionally met one another in pitched battles, which would justify armour, muskets and cannons.

Instead the Oromo tactic was to ambush their foe when they least expected it, take the Battle of Hazalo as an example, Nur Ibn Mujahid had just killed Emperor Gelawdewos and destroyed his army at Fatagar while suffering losses himself. Nur’s soldiers were injured, and tired, only to be ambushed by a huge Oromo army on what should have been an ordinary journey home. In such a scenario, you have no time to ready your cannons, muskets or even organise your men clad in armour.

Military hardware that once provided an edge to Adal and allowed Abyssinia to resist, was rendered obsolete by an asymmetric opponent like the Oromo.

Another deceptive tactic by them was to draw in pursuing conventional armies into their barren lands, which could not feed the invading soldiers. Once the increasingly famished soldiers were tired of being denied a pitched battle for weeks, they started to make the journey back to their kingdoms, only to be ambushed once again by the Oromo, who were fully fed on their wealth of cattle and energised by the thought of victory.

This is one of the reasons why the Oromo were so successful against the urban populations of Adal and the sedentary populations of Abyssinia but ran into a brick wall when they faced pastoralists in other parts of the Somali peninsula, which is why they could not expand into these lands and why Greater Somalia is so vast. The moment the Oromo settled down amongst sedentary populations is also when Abyssinian and Somali armies had a greater success at subduing and incorporating them.

There is also in this same time period a significant boom in the construction of walled fortifications and ramparts throughout the Somali peninsula, as that proved a much better defence and deterrent against Oromo encroachment than conventional armies clad in armour could ever do. My theory is that this particular change in warfare in the Horn is why chainmail and helmets were abandoned in favour of walled cities, forts and rifles.
