They should build their own planes. The tech is already a 100 years old now.

Nowadays you have amatuer plane builders that can build turbo prop planes capable of handling most of Somalia's current needs.

100% of the components can be made in Somalia and they won't require a team of rocket scientist to design and produce.

Why doesnt the gov considering buying the license of the T55/T72 tank, those things are sturdy cheap and strong and relativly simple to make especially with the technology of today, Ethiopia does it. It will minimalise future embargo's and create jobs and expand self suffience

Somalia currently hasn't got the infrastructure to build these tanks. Also they're in more need of artillery than tanks for ground campaigns.

However planes are definitely needed and have applications outside of reconnaissance and bombing terrorist.

From surveying the country for mining resources to safeguarding our waters.

T55 also requires components that have to be imported so it would be against the arms embargoes.
