America needs to borrow money, every year to round out its budget. This wealth fund will be filled with loaned money, increasing the total debt. A sovereign wealth fund is a good idea, the same way having a savingsaccount is a good idea, but if hooyo needs to pitch in to pay for your petrol every week, maybe increase your total income / cut expenditure so that you have something to save.

The southern states look dilapidated and are falling apart other than a few wealthy neighbourhoods. America is just a gamble of if you're rich or poor. the inequality gap is astounding. GDP per capita is meaningless. HDI is where it should be measured. there is no point counting numbers when a good portion are living in relative or absolute poverty.

I don't expect America to eradicate relative poverty, but I do expect the absolute poverty rate to be minimal at best.
