Every nation has their own self-interest. Somalia is a resource rich country with wolves circling it and they thought somalis would have kept selling their resources for nothing like the usual. They're shocked right now but they will come to their senses because they aren't dumb like UAE and will negotiate for it in good faith
It was our maritime resources. They wanted a lease for it and the Turkish weren't willing to give HSM the proceeds for it because they correctly knew it would be illegitimate to do it with a person whose mandate ended
