Owning a dog is haram. I thought you came back to the fold of Islam.
Dogs are not haram. Who told you this?
If you own a dog you are bound to touch it especially if you are keeping as a pet inside the house. It is haram.
My dog will be downstairs in the basement and outside to roam free and I will take him for walks. When I pet him, I'll wash my hands 7 times.
Dogs aren't haram, they're nijaas under some conditions and there's a difference.
Why do you want to own something that is nijaas? Especially as a pet. Just go for a cat man.
You can keep it outside. Even Cadaans only recently started letting their dogs in the house as pets.
You shouldn't own a dog for anything other than security and cultivation. Also, just because it is halal does not mean it is recommended.
I had cats. My first cat got ran over by a car. My second cat ran away because I wasnt giving it attention and love. I see it all the time on the streets and sometimes comes to my garden but runs away when I go near him. My third cat which I loved to bits, I gave away because I was too busy to look after him. He honestly was the best. 
Thats what I like about cats they arent clingy and noisey
Me too, the bastard is too prestige for me. Yh, gonna get a dog as well, I like German shepherds.
