Even being a proud member of reer Hennessy. I gotta say I am surprised how many people have succumb to drinking.
Can we get rid of the stereotype for us Canucks now?

I have met so many Somalis that drink. None of them ever looked happy to me.This queation was asked by one of my coworkers once.i said no. I've never had alcohol. I thought the conversation ended where until she asked me was i ever curious or did i ever wanted to try It caught me off guard when she said that because it never accord to me to try it although all my friends i grew up were trying all kinds of drugs including alcohol. alxamdulilah, i said no i was never curious about but now that you asked i am curious lol alxamdulilh to. This day i have zero desire to by the grace of Allah.
May Allah protect us.
I've seen hijab wearing arab lady drunk once in a bus. She said sallaamaa alaikum i said wa/salaam at this point i didn't realize she was drunk until she kept in talking Then almost immediately it became so. apparent.I have met so many Somalis that drink. None of them ever looked happy to me.
One time a toothless etheer was drunk in public asking me what my qabil is. Before giving up and cracking open what I assume was his 10th Coors Lite.
Almost 2 years now.How long ago was this?
Lol the hypocrisy. Your run in sounds a lot like mine. At first I didn't know he was drunk till he got close enough to breath on me.I've seen hijab wearing arab lady drunk once in a bus. Then she started asking me if i was Somali i said yes she was like why do somalis dont give salams back to her when she gives them salam aand how rude that was. She was so drunk it was pretty obvious. I was in shock just staring at her speechless.
Then random spanish dude got so mad at her calling her a because she has no right to accuse anyone because shes muslim and drunk lol the bus came to my stop we all got off they started chasing each other cursing at each other lol i don't even think he was muslim but he still managed to see how messed that was. Hijab+ drunkenness dint mix.
I've also seen a drunk muslim guy trying to give dawah to a street christian street preacher telling him that Jesus is not God that God does not have children.even the preacher was caught off guard with him lol
We all make mistakes it's important to learn from them and why we made them. It sounds like you did Alhamdulillah.Almost 2 years now.

My fellow countrywoman
True I met this girl once she had such a sad life cut out of her family no real friends. She was a big time smoker and drinker but you'd never guess. She never even had fun when she drank. Usually by herself or roommate. Filling an emptying void.
The dark ring is genetics, it has nothing to do with being alcoholic, some tribes are known for having this despite never touching alcohol.People who start drinking usually never quit. They either become social drinkers, or hide it from their families. And like you mentioned, you never know but at the same time, you know. I can't explain it, but I can tell when someone is an alcoholic or is a drinker. With Somali guys, they usually have a dark ring around their eyes. Its much harder to tell with girls.
Always get drunk easily, its really fun in sex
