Why do Somali's in the UK mostly live in council flats/rented accommodation

Asian areas are cheaper. You can get a 3 bed terraced house for £100-135k. Once you have that, its just a matter of saving up and then moving to Solihull/Sutton Coldfield

But the issue is some of the asian do not move out the area to move to nice areas due to being comfortable most of them have a lot of properties to their names though for instant my friend uncle lives in one of those asian areas bought a house for like 200k but also own like 4 other houses aswell as garages and just uses the rest for rent.

I know thats the issue im saying when i talk to the asian's in them areas they always have at least 2+ properties on rent but the somalia community need to do this aswell but most of them (from my experience) are living in rent accommodation and can't even afford a freehold house to live in rather than occupying other more.

Anything above that you have to network/manuevre into some management role.

Don't get me wrong though, £30k you are living more than comfortable in most of the UK.

Sxb them asians have been living in the same yard for 3 generations. Somalis are a relatively new community.

First of all normal folks cant buy homes in london anymore. Also in london council houses are extremely hard to get. Not enough being built and too many people in the que for them. If you are a man dont even dream of a 1 bedroom council flat. Women are only considered they have children. Most families who become homeless are taken out of london.

Riba is something somalis dont practice. Even the ones that do people will always say its riba. Most people just rent and if they end earn less get support.

I agree, I have started to see more and more people buy them especially as they get like a 60% discount if they have lived in them for 10 years plus which when the flat is worth £90000 means you only pay £36000 after the discount which is very doable.
