Why do Somali's in the UK mostly live in council flats/rented accommodation

Well i would say bristol here its peaceful and no shit happens unlike in some other places and some of the houses are decent

How is it a waste of time if you invest your money in a piece of land back home and you double your investment within a year or 2? How is that stupid its called flippin. You'd rather have your savings in your barclays account basically sitting there doing nothing. Money has to move around theres no point not letting it move. Investing in land or properties back home is highly profitable.

Why do most somali's live in council houses in the Uk it seems they do not own many properties compared to other people but rather use rented accommodation(This is just from my observation living in the UK)

Buying a house in London is impossible even for White people in this current climate. Plus, council houses are much better than private landlords, at least in the UK.

There isn't a big taboo with Public housing in the UK. This is mainly due to lost housing stock and slum clearances post WW2. In 1979, 42% of Britons lived in council homes.

Asian areas are cheaper. You can get a 3 bed terraced house for £100-135k. Once you have that, its just a matter of saving up and then moving to to Solihull/Sutton Coldfield
