Somaliland shipped millions of livestock such as goat, sheep and camels to the Saudi Arabia during the Haji alone. Not too long ago we overtook the Australians in being the biggest exporter of livestock to the Arabian Peninsula.
Not undermining the Wests power but our main players are the Arabs.

The west has big number of its NGOs in somaliland, they provide aid and employment

I'm not downplaying the West I already said that, but the Arabs are our biggest trading partners and we rely on them to self sustain.

Also Abaarso wasn't built by the West or any of it's governments. Maakhir University is a better example for a foreign-state backed University. Though alot of the money came from the Diaspora -"Additionally, through its representative to Kuwait, Faisal Hawar, the Puntland government signed an agreement in Dubai with a Kuwaiti company for the development of facilities at Maakhir University as well as the Garowe International Airport.
