Is Puntland done with the SSC regions?
It's not done. Puntland can't act in the SSC regions without the support of the population. For the past 10 years Puntland has been relatively inactive in those regions. The SSC regions will not become integral part of Puntland unless there's economic development that link it to Puntland. That's what Abdiweli Gaas is doing in Sanaag.

Can you explain the Puntland Focus Group? I heard that they prevented Gaas from having a term extension. How much power do they have and what is there role?

They have no power, most of them are failed candidates. Their role is to oppose any attempt by Abdiweli to extend his term which they predict might happen.

Should Puntland have a minimum 2 child policy?
No, the opposite is better. Puntland should put a strong emphasis on contraception and responsible parenting. Population control is essential in the modern world because there's less and less resources available. Puntland is already under huge strain with its current population that I estimate to be around 2.5 million. A highly skilled low population is better than a low skilled huge population. We must emulate countries like Norway, Israel and Oman.

Why did Puntland outdo other regions and even neighbouring countries almost on all indicators by a margin of 40% in the latest world bank survey?
Due to emphasis on education, education, education. Since Puntland's establishment a lot of the aid money it was granted came in the form of seminars, workshops and the like. Many of us believed this was useless and we should focus on acquiring infrastructure grants and loans but that was a short sighted vision. The education and sometimes reeducation of teachers, civil servants and young adults gave the older generation the knowledge and skills to pass to the younger ones. It gave them the tools to get a job or create a business. Other regions were too unstable to get this sort of development aid.

But what about Somaliland? Somaliland's aid was concentrated in a small part of its region namely the western region. The rest of the population which number according to the recent election around 40%+ were left to fend from themselves.

That 1 world bank report is not legitimate as the author even stated he never traveled to Somalia / SL / or PL and only created that report off of info supplied to him by 3rd party (pro PL person). The truth is PL is one of the least developed regions in all of Somali Regions. No major city worth mentioning. No major airport. No respectable schools. No roads. Soldiers don't get paid . No tax collected. Who can forget Gaas famous counterfiet money printing episode? That event resulted in the inflation of the Somali Shilling and protests across all of north - centeal - south somalia lol. Puntland couldnt even respond to losing Tukaraq and Boocame because of lack of funds .No uniforms for soldiers, no rations, the soldiers didn't even have blanket or pillow to slip on lol. Didn't some government building I think a courthouse close down in protest from lack of pay just last week?

No hate but let's not be delusional here. Puntland also has growing terrorist problem with ISIS and Al Shabab taking turns blowing things up, so my Somali brothers from Puntland you need to stop being delusional and come back into reality. InshAllah if facts are too much for you I suggest you hold onto that 1 world bank report and hold onto it tightly and rock back and forth in the fetal position mumbling "muh world bank report " till you fall asleep. Whatever helps you guys sleep at night

Where do you see Puntland in the next 10years
And do you think 1 man 1 vote will be applicable by 2024?
I think we set up the future and Puntland in 10 years will have local elections and a more inclusive civil society. The youth are hungry for change and many sons and daughters of the sand are returning. If Puntland is unable to stamp down on corruption in the next presidency, we have failed a generation. With more vital infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels and runways being planned, funded and constructed I see a middle income region by 2024 or a lower middle income economy.

I think 1 man 1 vote will happen by 2024 and local elections much earlier than that but it's not the number 1 priority. Without clear demarcation of Puntland's jurisdiction it will be a flawed election so that should be the bigger priority: solving the state borders.

Where will Puntland be expanding into next? South or West ?
Puntland will not expand borders only political influence. If you look at the history of Puntland it has not sought land outside those it claimed in its 1998 charter namely Sool and Sanaag. In a developing region out of a civil war, diplomacy and statecraft are more important than the barrel of the gun.

No.Just no.Stop.
This only works on the less educated ashy abdis who don't pay attention to the situation in PL and delusional MJ's here who believe they aren't as bad as xamar.Which is funny because xamar alone has double the population of PL and 100 times more companies and small businesses that create a lot of jobs and opportunities.

Like @Oday Sanaag said,Puntland has been debunking that report on a daily basis since its release by printing counterfeit money, soldiers and civil servants protesting due to lack of payments for months and tax isn't being collected.

Puntland doesn't even have any major companies nor small businesses to generate revenue and create jobs.So how is it even possible to have high GDP per capita this way?
The only explanation is that fake counterfeit money is being thrown around as aid combined with the money the diaspora sends back home for their families.

And finally the emphasis on education that has become the giant rug which puntlanders sweep all their problems under. The focus of their education isn't on technical skills nor training skilled labor but on formal education were the emphasis is put on academics and trade skills.Which is completely useless in Puntland's extremely underdeveloped market economy. There are no jobs waiting for them that need their acquired knowledge and they don't have the funds to set up businesses themselves. At the end of the day many of them become civil servants that burden the goverments small pockets and force it to print counterfeit money.

Dark times await Puntland which used to be the heart of Somalia’s pirate culture, but in 2016 the pirating business died for good and with it Puntland's economy.

How can Puntland attract SSC clans? They have a bigger representation in Puntland than in Somaliland and they get the top cabinet positions. How can you explain this irrational behaviour of SSC?
