That is a good observation. It must have been trained. OpenAI does work with defence, having contracts with Anduril.

Its facial dimensional understanding can only come from big training. That is not something such a machine should know by itself. In that sense, it is somewhat concerning what type of use the training is going to be directed toward. We already know of the AI-driven facial recognition capabilities in CCTVs.

Yes you are right my post was not grounded in science which is why I used my own experiences to try to explain the differences between everyone. Ill rephrase my sentence for it to be more objective [this is also still not scientific so bare with me here]:

Somali people look similar to one another however certain traits are carried by certain clans/regions more. For example out of all fully ethnic somalis, the distribution of people with lighter skin would be higher in the north than a full ethnic somali that lives in the south. This is because the north is colder than the south due to the elevation and there is a tiny bit more natufian admixture due to proximity with the arabian peninsula. This does not mean that there are no darkskins in the north, just that a certain trait is more frequent in a certain region than anywhere else.

In my case, I am extremely darkskinned with loosely curled hair. Darkskinned somalis are in my opinion the majority in all of somaliweyn but it is far more frequent in the south. Also, Instead of the usual somali aquiline nose, I have a slightly wider button nose without a nose bridge, something extremely common in my subclan. Instead of the angular face majority of somalis across all regions have, I have more of a diamond face with more blunt cheekbones, again something that is frequent in my subclan.

With all of this combined, chatgpt used this information and got my clan in 1 go.

However with that being said, we are more similar to one another and this is just chatgpt picking up on extremely subtle differences.
