If these guys are not corrupt why did farmaajo refuse them. Are the rumours really true of him trying to get a Somali oil drilling company based in Uganda to get the oil for us really true?
Ileen somalis been saying this is not Dubai this IS BOSASO, XAMAR, BERBERA, KISMAYO. But this actually looks like it is a corniche somewhere in the gulfIf this was the 1960s or 1970s Somalia, I would agree, take it slow but like Angola in the 1990s, Somalia today has to catch up with the rest of the world and similar to Angola the flow of oil could help Somalia leapfrog the rest of Africa with ease, even with HSMโs corruption. An extra $45 billion a year for the National Budget would be transformational in every aspect.

With the help of the Chinese they are also building up an Industrial base where they can slowly wean off their dependency on oil;
Remember that Angola is an extremely corrupt country, where the previous ruling family were literal billionaires, yet the country as a whole still benefited from the large scale infrastructure projects and reconstruction after a devastating war. What Somalia needs to do different is making sure the wealth trickles down to the entire society. Somalia is no longer a one-city state, there are multiple major cities across the country, multiple regions that are being developed, and multiple checks and balances between the major clans that could ensure that the oil revenues become a force-multiplier like in Norway or the Gulf countries rather than a curse.

if Puntland also join Somaliland and request indepence Somali does not exist. The rest of the country is controlled by foreign forces or alshababDifferent times different policies we need to evolve at the end of the day we are Recognized as part of Somalia so we need to work together to achieve our goals.
what oil company is gonna come drill oil in Puntland if the the federal government is not involved.
weโve already seen an example of this in Somaliland who have been humiliating themselves for 34 years for recognition they havenโt moved forward at all do you want
follow in there example??
it seems like you cannot think for yourself and you form all of your opinions based on emotion and qabiil.
I think you also forget that abdullaui yusuf was also the president of Somalia
I chose the Omani model. They are investing in infrastructure, culture, education, agriculture, industry and tourism. No ghoulish skyscrapers. Why would a tourist go to another country expecting to see traditional stuff but nope just another McDonald's?It takes roughly $10 billion to have 5 Somali cities with CBDs that each have 10 iconic skyscrapers above 50 to 100 floors, costing between $100 to $250 million per project and aligned on a major beach road with a promenade. Somalia could earn 5 times that figure annually from its potential oil revenues alone.
After that foundation, each individual city could add more and more projects on an annual basis, with parks, schools, factories, universities, hospitals, etc. Mogadishu, Bosaso, Hargeisa, Kismayo should be the premier cities of Africa based on the strategic location of the country and its vast natural resources. This is how cities like Sydney, Gold Coast and Surferโs Paradise were built in Australia and this was the development process of all the major cities in the Gulf region in the last 40 years.

No not at all, donโt believe these liberals. Oil is the backbone of every industry and will be for the foreseeable future. Until another reliable renewable energy source is found, itโll always be sort after.Somalia is too late oil is becoming irrelevant in the global economy
I feel like you are being too optimistic if we did have that high amount of potential oil reserves one of the heavy weights such as Shell, Exxon, Chevron would have explored the region not NPCs like Genel Energy and Coastline Exploration. It takes roughly $10 billion to have 5 Somali cities with CBDs that each have 10 iconic skyscrapers above 50 to 100 floors, costing between $100 to $250 million per project and aligned on a major beach road with a promenade. Ok haye,Oil will begin to decline in 2028, and most major countries are planning to stop using gasoline starting from 2035-2040. You are too late Somalis. Try something else.
Even Saudi Arabia is trying to get rid of dependence on oil, which is why they are building all these giant projects
Tell โem.most of the world still uses shidal because itโs affordable.Ok haye,
And what renewable energy sources will they replace it with ? Donโt believe the hype.
I hope the terms and conditions are good and we have a good trust able oil company to help us drill it and that our government won't be stupid and ensure that we get a good share of profits, my biggest fear is if we end up like Nigeria and get sucked dry.ฤฐt's confirmed by the Minister of Petroleum This Year Somalia will drill and start Producing Oil for the first time in it's history The Location of the Oil drilling ฤฐs Hobyo

I hope Hassan sheikh thinks about what he is doing and thinks about the future of the country rather than himself.Due to the 30+ years of civil war, we missed out on the best period for oil production and to make crazy profit.
With a little bit of planning, we could use the profit from the oil sales to rebuild the country. Our population is not that large.
We have a lot of corrupt leaders in our country, and I hope we don't end up like Nigeria.

Basically means investors are allowed but the government owns majority shares? The New Constitution HSM is going to pass says All Natural Resources will be Nationalised that means it's owned by every single Somali and the money we get it from will be used to build the Entire Country.
I agree when we are united things can get done and besides somaliland serves as a great example of being in a perpetual limbo state where it is just a drag.Different times different policies we need to evolve at the end of the day we are Recognized as part of Somalia so we need to work together to achieve our goals.
