Yes entire subclans live their not as large as mudug but they have council members in every district now

Because these seats were not selected based on demographics, they were selected by the political parties. I assume whoever is popular or who they think is strategic.

We should at least expect a few Dhulbahante if it was based on demographics.

On the bright side, it looks like Puntland is trying to steer away from clan voting/demographic voting, and selecting their own candidates regardless of sub-clan. I hope this means, that we can start voting along ideological lines, instead of clan loyalty and insecurity.

It makes more sense for each neighbourhood to elect their most capable people, regardless of clan; one from each party. And then people vote. Because if it's demographic voting, it will get messy.

Yeah credentials should always come first but you know Somalis a lot are not politically mature enough to move past tribes yet especially in the social media age where tribalism is being spread everywhere

You are right abayo.This beesha Cumar Maxamud meeting in Garowe was just few months ago before the last election. You will never see Warsangeli or leelkase talking about nugaal elections.
