H.R.10402 - To recognize Somaliland of the Federal Republic of Somalia as a separate, independent country.

Somaliland is culturally different, a democratic country vs dictatorship, ethnosupremist 4.5 one. We've just seen democracy was violently resisted in Jubbaland and other enclaves who want to perpetuate a 4.5 clan supremicst system.

Somalia and Somaliland is the same, the difference between those two is similar to that of Austria and Germany, just name.

Even in a Republican dominated congress and senate I doubt it will have that much support. These niggas foreign policy are dictated by the CIA, even if they ran a campaign on somaliland independence, Langley wouldn’t allow it cuz if they wanted it to be independent they woulda done it already
The Pentagon has it's own in-house intelligence agency, run by unelected officials, if you've been keeping with the whole UAP disclosure the highest people in office can't even get access to these black sites.

Yeah and niggas actin like somaliland is a core issue for the trump gov, they have sympathy from the IC for being a “democracy” but those with the declassified files know the truth and how recognising them would probably create South Sudan part 2. Half of the landmass is occupied by unionists, awdal and ssc,

Your way of thinking is the reason why Somalia is being carved up left and right. If you knew the importance of the Red Sea to the global economy you would not believe what you just wrote. I’m telling you right now, Somalia’s entire northern seaboard is gonna be given to Ethiopia by Israel, France and the UAE who are currently working on building the Ethiopian Navy up.

You underestimate the local SL populations xenophobia. Miskiin oromo muslim people were mistreated, you think there will be a military base? By gaalo weliba.

Reer SL have done well in keeping their land free from ajanabis. Only ones present there are gaalo NGO workers, couple arabs and timojileecs. I would guess max totaling to 1-2000 foreigners.

A military base is still possible, but I don’t think it will happen. All foreign bases in southern Somalia popped due to the chaos of civil war. SL is stable, gaalada can’t be sneaky.

A military base will only be given to a major power, which Ethiopia isn’t. Also that will happen only in exchange to a recognition.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Why?! The million dollar question I have never got any credible answer from any backer of that secessionist project.

Why are you seceding from the country despite fully acknowledging you accepted this union willingly without compulsion and coercion?!

The main sponsor is seated on lowly transportation and national disaster committees, the few bills he has sponsored and passed have all rename post office buildings in his home state to the names of irrelevant white men who were local conservatives.

No need to be afraid

Doesn’t matter anyhow, it’s not for Congress to recognize countries regardless of how powerful the individual may be or his committee. Foreign policy is for the chief executive. Many have doubts that he will do African Muslim negroes any favors.

If given the chance to grant Puntland independence under the current circumstances in Somalia, would you take it? I don’t foresee significant changes in southern Somalia for the next 30 years. While I doubt there’s a strong likelihood of Trump recognizing Somaliland, I would welcome it with open hands.

Ask yourself could you go to any human being on earth that knows about Somalia (that isn't from Somalia) and ask them that question? Around other people you probably would never discuss Somalia, but you ask stupid question like that on here. If you discussed Somalia you would never bring up Somaliland because it's probably too embarasssing to do that.

It's a good Somalia has it's own forum to escape from reality.

I don't think you know how the foreign affairs committee works.

@Somali Saayid The US embassy was moved to Jerusalem by executive order from Trump. No congressional authority required and no involvement from them at all. That’s all it takes. They probably didn’t teach that in your high school civics class this summer.

I was waiting a proper answer to my question and you replied it with another question. Somaliland has declared to breakaway from the country less than 4 months after Siad Barre was ousted from Mogadishu in 1991. Siad Barre wrecked most of the country with his brutal crackdown on the people regardless of their tribal affiliations and it wasn't a one-sided assault on Isaaq. So, the question still stands; Why did they abruptly declare secession?!

You could say: they wanted more powerful government positions; that was negotiable... I'm sure most people would hear their plees but it's not a strong enough reason to secede.

You could say: they claim to have been massacred by the Siad Barre regime; but that wasn't a one-sided assault... The regime slaughtered thousands in Mudug and Nugal as well, and many more in the South. He was a brutal dictator that was protecting his seat no matter the cost.

Some of the arguments landers bring forth to answer that question is WEAK tbh.

I dont understand how anyone belive Somaliland will be part of Somalia again.

Somalia has been unable to unite its population for 33+ years and it doesn't look like they are anywhere close now. PL and JL are only part of Somalia when they feel like it. One Somalia is failed and never worked.

Somaliland will never be independent and they will be forced to rejoin Somalia and beg for forgiveness. One Somalia Forever. Secession is illegal and unacceptable.

Secession from Somalia is Illegal. Somaliland has no choice but to go talk to HSM and obey all his demands and rejoin Somalia and beg for forgiveness. After that Somaliland can continue to exist as a Federal Member State of Somalia.

HSM and Somalia holds all the cards and influence here while Somaliland has zero cards and zero influence because Somaliland is apart of Somalia and not a separate country and Secession is illegal

Why do people get divorced after entering a legally binding union with another person under the watch of a witness? Your premise is ridiculous on the face of it because you act like nobody can ever change their mind.

I also find it kinda ironic that you as a PLer are against this so vehemently given that PL constitution also includes a similar ‘nuclear option’. PL cut all ties with the FGS back in March, effectively making it no different to SL in terms of position. Are you also similarly against PL cutting these ties to the federal government and behaving, in the words of Deni, as a ‘sovereign nation(dowlad madax banaan)’? Please reconcile these glaring differences for us.
