I mean. there is literally no point in Turkey extending its stay in Somalia, it has to complete those projects if it wants a return on its investment.
You’re not getting it.

They could prolong any project for as long as they want to stop Somalia from renegotiating. All while simultaneously profiting of our resources. So they could have different projects going on as this covers a massive area and use any of such project to keep us from ending or renegotiating a new deal. They could realistically drag it out for decades all while recouping their investment and more. And any dispute is to be arbitrated in Turkish courts instead of a neutral country.

And to make this worse, there is no audit of their so called recovery costs. They just deployed 400 Turkish soldiers in Mogadishu to protect their interests including the oil exploration and this will be added to the recovery cost. They could add anything to it.

All of which drags Somalia into a never ending loop of getting peanuts if anything while the Turks leech off us.

I'm sure they will send expired bulgur to muqdisho as a brotherly gesture for the hungry and poor.

Extremely concerning and a likely scenario.

At this point, only a massive world event like a third world war between the big powers could save Somalia from indefinite ruin and exploitation. Just like how WW2 weakend the colonial powers and ushered in a new age of independence for their colonies.

We will see, right now I'm not onboard with the doom narrative. I rather wait for clarification.

Next goal sell non Hawiya lands!!.

The 5% alone wouldn't have bothered me i could have accepted us getting only 5% for the first 3-5 years. But the idea that they have all these loopholes in the contract and we have no legal recourse in the contract terms stated. Then you expect me to trust that they won't exploit us ?
