Converstion is about the MoU and opinions on that. Not your feelings or mine. Not good to derail the conversation.
His point was if you get sucker punched it doesn’t matter whether your strong or not, you’ll react in some way. Somalis are prideful in that their reaction will be violent to Ethiopian incursion.

Algeria basically said that the Arab League should stay out of this, while all of the other Arab countries said they support Somalia

Algeria supports the Polisario front in Western sahara against Morocco, so it makes sense they are not against SL.

Algeria is what happens when you overdose on outdated socialist national liberation rhetoric. They drove Morocco to recognize Israel because of that. Never get high on your own supply.

HSM should have left that joke of a meeting. Hemedetti head of RSF was there while he is not the head of Sudan, basically a title-less warlord was brought to represent Sudan. Abiy was not there aswell.

The US envoy to the HoA gave a very strong pushback against the MOU.

It is absurd for the US to invoke International law while conveniently avoiding and even claiming to uphold the same international law when its ally is currently engaged in a genocide. What makes Somalia an exception, when ultimately power often dictates the course of the world and who becomes the subject of international law.

Ethiopia clearly views Marehan is a unique threat, do you know why that is ?

When you look at the Somalia ethiopia border the two places we invaded Ethiopia from in 1977 was from Wajaale near Hargaisa and the other was Dollow. These two places are also the most heavily populated parts of our border with Ethiopia.
what about beledweyne into the border

I always thought Algeria supporting the Polisario was a one off thing. I don’t think they support Kurdish separatists in the ME for instance

I haven’t seen any reputable sources confirm that tweet, so it’s very possible that I feel for fake news

What would Algeria gain from supporting Ethiopia in this?

'Ukrainians captured in Somalia' wtf. This was the topic of discussion between the foreign ministry of Somalia and Ukraine during a phone call along with establishing diplomatic relations.

Edit: Looks like some Ukrainian citizens working for the UN were captured after the helicopter crash in Mudug.
