Musa gives Ethiopia a port and a military base on the Gulf of Aden. It's over

What do you think the outcome will be bro ?
To be honest, I can see Egypt getting a military base somewhere in Somalia. Where if Ethiopia chooses to invade, there will be a full-scale war where Egypt will also want to get involved.

Not sure though, just my theory

I hope we can secure a military defence/base deal. This could provide us with more time to address AS and potentially leverage this crisis to push for a stronger central government in Somalia, given the current system is too weak. I wouldn't even mind a strong military dictatorship or something like "Singapore" .

It might be good if KSA starts to play a more active role in the region to counteract the destruction caused by the UAE
Are UAE and KSA aligned on foreign policy? They both participate on the same fronts in Yemen and Qatar. KSA might be just as bad as UAE

By the end of the year we shall have two entities in old somalia. The Islamic Emirates of somalia and the Republic of somaliland. One will be internationally recognised and the other not. Guess which. Accept it or not, that's the script.

US will not allow that to happen. They will force ATMIS back if it looks like Somalia is losing too badly. In the end though I think they don't expect total victory for either side.

The Egypt deal will be support for SNA to clear Southern and South Central of insurgents. They aren't sending troops to fight Ethiopia. The only way Somalia stops this MoU is by winning against the insurgents, becoming internally secure, getting off international aid and then building additional forces to confront Somaliland troops (a second civil war). This will take years if it ever happens.

SL been destroy by SSC. Reer Awdal iyo reer GX will not be part of musa jeegaan army. It will be fast victory.

Could you imagine this saga unfolding prior to 2022, before the SSC conflict, with SL's phantom army in the ether, exaggerated political maturity with regional leaders, and influence over Federal leadership, it would have been disastrous.

It would have been back to 2008, when Ms J Frazer in a recent interview said US deferred the matter to the AU, which was on the verge of tossing a coin in their favour.

-----------------
I felt that they deserved the recognition. At the same time, the African Union had sent missions to Somaliland, and was moving in that direction to recognize Somaliland as well,” said Frazer.

Your not being realistic, all Somalis don’t like Ethiopia. If the protests in Mogadishu didn’t tell you enough.

This is why Somaliland (including SSc) is a different country. Southern Somalias fought wars against Ethiopia. Somalis fought in the Italian-Ethiopia wars in the 1930s, Somalilanders did not. Somaliland only invaded them as part of Somalia in 1970s which was an offensive war. Southern Somalis were again invaded by Ethiopia (invited) in 2006, Somalilanders were not. Somalilanders don't have the same experiences as Somalis, which you would expect given they are different countries.

Wtf is a “Somali lander” just say issaq. And you don’t speak for all of them, even they are disgruntled with this deal, though majority seem in favour.

All of the tribes in Somaliland have the same history. None of them fought with the Italians against the Ethiopians as far as I am aware.

And none of them fought Ethiopians in 2006.
