What I would do if I was Zelensky:
- Recognise the annexed parts of Russia and convince the West to do so also.
- Then apply for a fast-track entry into NATO.

fax, the west will likely implement a version of the "marshal plan" which will rebuild the rest of Ukraine. i don't think putin will negotiate tho.

If he annexes the Donbass and Ukraine continues to counterattack, I see Putin threatening tactical nukes.
However, I don’t think we will see a situation where they will actually be used.
As much as I am anti-Russia, Putin isn’t as crazy as Trump and knows the consequences of using nukes.
We will most likely see a game of chicken if Russia annexes the Donbass.

The Russian casualties sustained in the Kyiv Offensive aren't confirmed and I wouldn't take the Ukrainian claims seriously. Either way, you're always going to have losses in a real war, this isn't a game it's real life.
Napoleon when he invaded Russia defeated the Tsar's armies numerous times, especially at the Battle of Borodino. The French sustained huge casualties in almost every engagement despite taking Moscow itself. Napoleon's armies eventually retreated and the Russians counter-attacked and drove him out of their country.
War isn't always about winning but how much you can endure until you get the chance to win.
If they're using incendiary bombs, I think they'll try to recapture that place soon.

Putin is calling up conscripts. If anything, this underscores how bad this situation is for Russia right now.

Mobilization in the Russian Federation begins today. Only men with military experience/training are liable for service.

Russia has announced the mobilisation of 300,000 reserves. Russia has 25 million reserves (people that have essentially gone through some military training in their lives). This will be in addition to the 100-150,000 soldiers that are currently active in Ukraine.
This should take a couple of months and in that time we should see an escalation. We'll likely see wide scales attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure (power stations, bridges, rail etc.).
There are rumours that Ukraine is going to launch a final push. This would be interesting to see.
