tbh setting nasty precedents in third world countries can often be just as damaging
in this case it is 100% confirmed, in another it may not be as concrete. but without a proper jailing system there is another reason to want capital punishment and that is to safeguard citizens from dangerous individuals.
I think it would set a positive precedent if anything.
This is a country that hasnt been governed by the rule of law for decades, where criminals routinely go unpunished because of their clan ties.
They will think twice now knowing their clan cannot protect them from justice.
