The problem in the African-Americancommunity is that one setof women's rights were promoted but the accompanying rights like educational achievement, financial liberation and economic success, liberation from being sexualized in society etc where left out. Bro the Xeer can be compatible with the deen. The Xeer is the customs while the Shariah is the law of the land. Customs العرف sometimes influences the rulings of some of the Fiqh (jurisprudence) related matters but nothing fundamental.
