I have to disagree it's roughly 75-80% E-V32 and 20-25% T-L208 paternally, the odd J1 Somali or the much rarer haplogroup A.
I agree that the majority of Somalis are EV32, followed by T. But the testing sample is not that large, and already we have several J1s and a few other non-Somali haplogroups. Then we have to bear in mind that these individuals come from clans, whose population could be of some significance?

As for sheikh maxamed idris, ive always seen him as an Eritrean who can speak Somali but that's probably I've known he was Eritrean from a young age.
It's the truth. I know 'Somali' clans, who have a high-chance of being Oromo, and I have the evidence to back this up. There will be always be a chance for new adoptions, because there are enough Somali clans, who like to adopt people to boost their numbers. It's an "unspoken secret".

The same way that nobody knows that a lot of clans are originally "Sheegato", nobody will notice. It's not like there is a Governmental agency keeping track of this.

That Somali women don't have a lineage and can't pass it on. These are malicious lies and easily dispelled.
In fact, a good number of Somali men, hail from lineages, that are only Somali through the maternal side; as in, they are only Somali, because their maternal ancestor had a child with a foreign man. I suspect a lot of these non-Somali haplogroups entered Somali lands, in the 1500s, when Somalis had wars with the Abyssinnians, and foreign Muslim fighters came to help Somalis.
Even Sheikh Maxamed Idris, is Eritrean paternally, but his mother is Somali, but he's a Somali man, through and through. Mothers tend to be the primary caretaker and pass on the MOTHER tongue, culture and so forth.
If you choose to marry a foreign man, make sure he's better than any Somali man you know, and then pray istikhara, but don't ever let a Somali male bully you into thinking you are not able to pass on your culture and language. All you need is for your half-Somali son/s, to marry Somali women and then the rest is history, in fact, the true history of a lot of Somalis.
Next time you see them coming at some miskeen girl and her foreign hubby with these lies, ask them to take a DNA test first.

Thats the point sheegato are actively deceiving Somalis about their lineage to be Somali. They are transforming their identity to fit the criteria of being Somali. A mix kid who openly states his foreign lineage will not be considered a ethnic Somali for a number of generations

If you are mixed though, to the point where your DNA is above 90% English, you can claim to be indigenous.

If they get absorbed, then it means they probably no longer have much Oromo blood. They would've married other Somalis and had their own blood diluted.
People confuse ethnic identity with lineage. You get your lineage from your father, which people can usually count a few generations back until their tribal patriarch. Your ethnicity is more complex and involves having a shared identity based on language, culture, history, geography etc.
This is beautifully captured when you study the Seerah of the Prophet ο·Ί whose lineage went back to Ismaa'il (as) who wasn't an Arab but whose children became Arabs (Arabised) including the Prophet ο·Ί. No-one will say that the Prophet ο·Ί isn't a true Arab on account of his lineage.
Most ethnic groups today are made up of diverse haplogroups which again show lineage β ethnicity. They're two separate things that people mistakenly conflate.

Itβs very common in many countries, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia UAE etc. Descent is passed from the father not the mother and I donβt see that changing in Somalia especially where there is Qaabil.
If your father is not Somali you are not Somali. I personally have heard of how half kids werenβt accepted weather they where Arab, Asian or African. They where flat out told by the community your not Somali from the women, to the businessman, to the clan elders, to the community centers. I know some Somali girls to this day who canβt get remarried because of there history with ajnabi.
Also mixing in the west is dangerous you could loose your whole linage in 1 generation. In Somalia itβs different yeah Somalis assimilated other ethnicities but these people kept marrying Somalis that forced them to accept our culture and language. Also itβs haram to claim anything other than your fatherβs lineage.

Although I agree that culture, language, religion can be passed down through the mother, the Somali identity is inextricably linked with the clan structure which is also the Islamic model. Allah says: Call them by their fathers (Surah Ahzab).
So in that sense, they can be Somali only somewhat culturally, and only through a 0.5 type of cultural assimilation. But they will have no clan because that is passed from the father alone and they will always be categorised separately for better or for worse.
