live and let die.
Somali calacaal usually starts with this:

•We the have longest coastline
•We have Fish
•We have an arbitrary number of missing revenue from fishing
•We get dumped with toxic waste
•We have an arbitrary number of reserve in oil
•We have this and we have that.

Let me fill you in on something. Somalia is going 100% private equity. If they government can't do anything, small Somalia firms will begin like LG and Samsung did as little trading companies and fishing companies that reinvest profit into other infant industries. The most trusted Somali company will be a Somali funded one and when they emerge it will be through private equity.

Until then sit tight my little diluted Cushitic cadcad friend.

Or you can always head back to Oman. Muscat is my favourite Arabian city. You just head back if things get worse and bail.:kodaksmiley:

Weren't you the one saying Somalia has qashin human capital? You can't claim both ways. Progressive steps need to be taken, you guys just want to jump in and cut the line. As you say, Samsung, the company you're hyping up started off as a minuscule trading company dealing in fish and local produce. Maybe we should try and actually get our fish out of the fucking sea and produce some local produce then. More fish is being taken from our waters by foreigners than us purely down to the incompetency of our leadership and the inability of our population. But no, that's just calacaal. f*ck that, let's rely on trading livestock that dies off en masse every other Friday and gets a ban on Sundays. :heh:

We lack the basic essentials from security and stability to education and skilled labour. We have a 40%~ adult literacy rate in a country where 43% of the population consists of literal children under 14. The north has been at peace for how many years now? Have these companies emerged yet? What industries have they kick started? The North's economy is just as primitive as it was 20 years ago with no sign of improvement. Or are you going to tell me these industries are on their way and could pop any moment now because that would be welcome news. The capital is barely deemed safe for investment by Somalis, let alone outsiders. What an absolutely fantastic environment for the next Samsung and LG to thrive in.

Excuse my skepticism in your prophecies :drakekidding:

Obviously, but any hope of changing that would fly out the window if @black got his way.

Trust me, if I really got my way it wouldn't be anything like in the OP. Perhaps I'm being optimistic about it, but 'my way' executed properly >> the status quo. My left nut >> the status quo. Literally everything >> the status quo

Im not a politician. I'm a capitalist.

All I heard were great ideas that can only be executed through the private sector. Nobody cares about your feel good stats, people want to see companies that represent them and are taking actionable steps.

Everything you just said now should be on a business report.

This is why the business forum collects dust and the political forum is polished.

:faysalwtf: but every fucking country needs a basic foundation for businesses to operate on

When your country is small weak like Djibouti your neighbors will annex you. Learn from what is happening to Djibouti from Eritrea.

Not Somalia.

The world needs less regulation. Less regulation is how businesses grow. If you want to make changes in the fisheries sector it can only be achieved through a great company that sets the standards.

Other business will emulate sustainable models and this is how you do the work for the politicians.

But 90% of the dudes on this forum waste thier energy with Political strategies.
