Not as fluently as when I was in school but well enough to carry a conversation well pretty much anywhere.

Same here bro. I've been reading an online dictionary for months and my spelling has become better, but it doesn't teach you syntax and proper sentence structure so I do a lot of guesswork when speaking Somali.

I think the biggest obstacle for me is speaking and writing. Reading is not a problem for me.

Don't give up sxb. You could always marry a xaliimo who speaks a1 Somali if you fail lol.



That's a major problem. Most of us don't speak Somali unless, it's with our parents. We need to revive the everyday use of our language and encourage youngsters to speak the language among themselves

Jokes aside, you guys are already making progress. I've seen you write somali before, and it isn't hard to read at all. Keep trying and maybe on top of the writing portion, we can give some of yall the chance to do audio recordings reading somali. I reckon it is easier to learn to write than to speak.

The trick is writing it whilst you're pronouncing the word out loud. It's much easier that way
