I want y’all to elaborate what is the problem with the opinion itself (not her as a person or whatever) what is a better alternative than letting people just believe /be what they want?

Why should people be controlled by their community, society, etc? How can a society properly evolve or develop when certain ideas/views/ people are shut down? how is it beneficial to have a population of people who only live life how others expect them to act. That’s some communist shit I don’t roll with Now the irony y’all be criticizing China with their social credit score shit while basically pushing for the lite version for our people …

Is that kind of faith even a genuine faith? I think intellectual discourse and true freedom is paramount to actually developing true genuine faith. Notice how Muslims in the west almost always tend to be more religious than the ones back home? It’s cuz in the west the muslims had their faith survive all skepticism, doubt and influence. The Muslims in the west shown all options decided out of their own volition they prefer to be Muslim and that’s why they believe much stronger. Now look at Iran for example, y’all already know what’s up with them I don’t need to go into detail.

Let people who believe believe and whoever doesn’t want to to leave and be able to freely show it, that way you don’t got niggas faking they’re Muslim trying to sway others out

In the west, they are becoming more religious. For most, that just means praying more and avoiding bad deeds. For a small minority, they go from drinking and partying to suddenly becoming obsessed with the oppression of Muslims in their lands and want to go to Syria to be killed by a drone in some field.

When you spend your formative twenty years growing up in the West, where all of your friends and teachers are of a liberalised secular state of mind in conjunction with living in a digital age where you are exposed to a wide array of alternative belief systems and ideas that clash with Islam, it's only natural that it rubs off on you, at least to some extent.

It's only a matter of how long it will take for the Somali diaspora based in Western countries to have a statistically significant percentage of non-practicing or outright irreligious people.

It's countered by the fact that Somalis have become more religious in contrast to decades prior and we've got more stubborn personalities compared to other predominantly Muslim diasporas like the Lebanese who readily assimilate in the West.

Let's be honest. Somalia's not getting its act together any time soon so we can't complain. Folks can't act surprised when generations begin to assimilate to the society they are in over one they've never known. By the time Somalia gets its shit together there maybe whole generation of 4-6th gen somalis with whole different values. That's just what it means to be diaspora. Some folks lose their heritage and others cling onto it.


Ultimately their numbers will be low. Somalis are notoriously bull headed. We'll rot before we full assimilate but there will be a minority that will be lost. This is to be expected.

Maybe this is where you misunderstood, by statistically significant I meant enough for you to consciously notice them on the streets of a Western city filled with Somalis as a sizeable minority, like Arab Christians to Arab Muslims not 50/50 or a majority.
