Thats one very valid statement laakin the cadaan are cansuuri and holding the ANC hostage from making any further progress for their people.

To enact any major government policies, such as free education, they will need to raise taxes and because of that the cadaans will leave or avoid tax or set up their businesses in tax havens.

Sorry bro , but that's a lame excuse ,these politicians had 30 years , if they really had their people's interest at heart and weren't corrupt or easily bought, with 80% of the population behind them they could have easily outmaneuvered and blackmailed the white business class into accepting a real and meaningful change that will help everyone , instead they joined the wealthy white elites and forgot about their people , cadaans got everything to lose if they leave South Africa unlike the poor black population .

Don't get me wrong sxb, I agree with the corruption completely. Zuma was incredibly corrupt and deserves to be jailed, no one can debate that. However, white flight has hurt Sth Africa and there is no doubt that they still hold a stranglehold on the economy in both SA and Namibia, a former colony of Sth Africa with similar economic problems.

Also, there is a reason why Mandela did not enact many of the major economic/social changes that he campaigned for when he became president. The cadaan population are still heavily militarised as they were obligated to do military service during apartheid, meaning there are still millions of healthy military combat trained cadaan there.

Also, the cadaan have threatened to break away from Sth Africa numerous times, the constitution allows them to set up a homeland. Despite never becoming close to reality, the idea that Sth Africa's would split was a serious threat as recently as the 2000's.

My entire point is that Sth Africa is an extremely messy situation. The Bantu populations are p*ssed off that nothing has been changed, the cadaan are angry that they will never realistically gain power and the Indians/Coloureds feel they have been forgotten regardless of who was in power.

We also must remember that apartheid ended in 1994, many ppl on this site are older than the new government. America ended segregation over 50 years ago and is still coming to grips with it. South Africa had a much worse system and over there Blacks are the majority as opposed to America.

The concept of even providing a decent education to Blacks was reintroduced in 1996.

Yeah honestly I do understand. You know I know rich ass white men in Canada who left because taxes got too high and now they take advantage of poor people and exploit resources in Botswana. I was just joking, I truly understand their frustration. What I don’t understand though, is how black slaves built half of America and apparently because of inflation all the shit they did would be worth 1+ trillion of the US economy today which is insane. Blacks also built a lot of beautiful historical buildings as slaves too. So why can’t blacks put in the same efforts in building up the continent instead of letting the whites and Chinese dominate their economy while they still live in poverty? Make it make sense!!! Why are you speaking like you are African American or a native South African? You or your people came as refugees or economic migrants to both and have not built either forcibly. False. Historical evidence shows Bantus reached modern day aoith africa by the 4-5th century AD or possibly even earlier. Bantus lived in Southafrica at least 1200 years before whites came. The apartheid regime invented a false narrative in which they said the land was empty but that's not true
