Can someone inform of their logic? As I haven't figured out yet. Most foreigners can't tell apart Somalis in the West, as to whether they are from SL or Somalia, even DDS, NFD or Djibouti. So them trying to spread hate or fearmongering to Ajanabis about Somalis from Somalia will end up backfire on them in the end. Especially amidst the rising of far right movements against muslims, black people and even Somalis in particular. Not a very well-thought of tactic I guess. But they shall reap what they sow.

You're right but honestly, I don't think they care.

Many of them truly don't see themselves as Somali especially in the UK and refer to themselves as landers. It's a form of a yet to be identified dystorphia/ dissociation syndrome. That's why many of the slurs like z**mali were coined by UK landers and their youth are teaching ajanabis about our differences and how they're from SL rather than Somalia.

I also think that there is a more insidious element where they associate certain diasporas with certain non SL clans and target ajanabis from those places with misinformation and hatred towards Somalis. There is a reason why they target both racist white Americans and xenophobic AA& South Africans and not British spaces as they see those places as having a smaller SL diaspora than the UK.

I don't think it can be simplified as intentionally wanting to settle in non-Darood areas. First of all the majority of my relatives lives in DDS, and most of them have zero interest in moving elsewhere, at most cities nearby within the same country. As far as in SL, I have less than a dozen of close relatives (if we are referring to non-Isaaqs), in particular Awdal, all of them. They have lived there for quite some time, either a students who then settle there out of coincidence or married into families hailing from there. And then found success there, which resulted in them remaining. Since Awdal have had the least problematic Somalis looking back, they haven't thought much about it. Also the reason why they haven't settled in places with hostile past. Hopefully, we can all move past this mindset of qabyaalad, and never have to worry of others turning on you because of external reasons, in times of crisis.

Can someone educate me on the Garhajis and Habar Yonis. I always hear how they are the good isaaqs I wanna know why that is?
