Supposing you're right, that people become homosexuals because of the abuse and trauma they've faced in their early life, how are they then supposed to control their feelings as a result of this trauma? They can deal with it, learn to cope with it but the damage has already been done. Following your logic, they haven't chosen to become homosexual, they've become homosexual as a result of the abuse they were subjected to which only supports the argument that "homosexuality is not a choice" so you're not doing yourself any favours.
