There are some who are more pure blooded and there are others that intermarried with the Hawiye soo much that they're considered one of them. I have a sheekhaal cousin, you can take my word for it.Sheekhaals are extremely diluted. There's two of them on 23andMe and they are autosomally 99% typical Somali. Only thing different about them is that they have paternal R1a. Oddly enough, both of them are slightly more African than typical North Somalis (like Isaaqs and Harti Darods).
You can't call them Benadiri or 'CadCad'.
I know, looks like majority of the people in the world are uncertain about their ancestry lool. Some people stupidly erased their own history by claiming something else.Geysinians got so many conflicting stories about their ancestry. Some claim to be Gurage, some cling onto fairytale sahabi ancestors like some Somali clans and some claim to be Shekhash LOL.
Btw we are talking about who built the city not who lives there today...
Btw the Adal sultanate built Harar. No one is sure who the Adal were, some believe they were Somalized Arabs or Arabized Somalis because of their style of construction, culture, etc. They were probably Arabized Somalis who had Arabs in their ranks.
"During Adal's initial period, when it was centered on the port city of Zeila in present-day northwestern Somalia, the kingdom was primarily composed of Somalis, Afars, Hararis and Arabs"
Other important dynasties in East Africa include the Walashma dynasty who trace their lineage to Quraysh through Umar Walashma, also Sultanate of Showa who trace their lineage to bani Makhzoum. Even the Omani sultanate took over most of East Africa before placing less emphasis on it's construction and maintenance, thus losing control over it.
Nur was responsible for building the walls of Harar, I have to give credit where it's due. The problem with you people is, you want to hide the fact that Arabs and other foreigners were prominent in East Africa. Other Arabs (who are distant cousins of us) even took over the entire North Africa, all the way to Mauritania, namely Banu Hilal and Banu Sulaym.
