It's tuff. However somalis back home have had decades of sitting on their ass and letting ajnabis do work they consider "beneath them". I'm not say this is good in any way but it will mean many in employment and when a man has nothing but work and bills to think about, he tends to have no time to cause too much trouble.

If this does boots the somali economic situation then I suspect that many somalis will become cheap labour. It's what happened in every developed nation, the mass population used to launch the nation into a new era. Brutal but true.

Puntland is the only self- sufficient state in Somalia with not one but two ports, and multiple airports. I won't even get into the maritime wealth or the natural resources.

100%. For me the ends justify the means because it'll mean a future generation will not have to suffer as much. We should look to Singapore as a model, developing not only from oil but pushing to immediately diversify our exports. Think of it this way we could be using revenue of oil to fix the regions in which the oil is from and as more oil rigs are open we can begin to slowly reduce issues.

After perhaps 15 years there should be a shift towards in house develop. Products made in Somalia to better spread our wealth. These are all fun speculations of course but I think oil can only be a benefit when handled right.
