You guys need to convince me that being jewish is inherently evil. Should be a simple task. This challenge goes to others who might say Jewish people are inherently good. Both statements can not be justified. No one is good or bad By virtue of their race or ethnicity. People choose to do right or wrong irrespective of their race. Is that complex to understand?

He sounds reasonable in his take on ilhan. He said not to judge her based on the rumours. That was some of the best reasonable suggestions I read in the thread. He also pointed out what she could have done better to pave the way for more somalis in the future who might want to join politics.

Do you know what is called tough love? I think that is what he has for Ilhan. Hold her accountable without choosing a worse alternative sorta approach. But that is my read on the brother's statements.

You're 100% right in that her personal life does not reflect Islam, but I think you would agree that she is the best known and most influential Muslim in the States. For better or worse, people will see her and associate her with the religion. Like I alluded to earlier, there is a difference between perception and reality, and while as per our deen we should assume that she is clear of the accusations about her, politics is all about perception, which is often enough to instantly change public mood and opinion.

I'm not sure if you read the remainder of the thread which included further numbers and arguments as to why she needed the Somali vote to win, including sources for those claims.

It was the truth and not flattery when I said that agree with a lot of what you say, but the way Ilhan Omar has dealt with the past two years isn't one of them. I concur that attacking her serves the interests of racists and Islamophobes, but I would also challenge you on how she has improved the day-to-day lives of Muslims/Somalis/Immigrants/Americans in general, and her constituents, Muslim and non-Muslim, in particular
