That’s because the Saudi government and Salafis have a close 200 year old relationship. Salafis needed a tribe to back them, and Saudis needed religious justification to expand. Mutually beneficial relationship. But Salafis in Saudi are controlled by the government, if they allowed them to spread their true ideology, then the Saudi government could get toppled themselves.

I spoke on it. The top Salafi in the UK treats would tell a man to divorce his wife if she aint make him a 4 course meal but tells women in abusive marriages to deal with it. Also pressures somali women to marry jail reverts but would never do the same to Arabs or desis.

Also a known salafi sheikh got caught with a woman in the mosque, they did nothing about it. I got stories for days.

There was a somali girl who married one of those Salafi reverts, she had a son and he r worded her son. she went to the police and had him arrested, she then went to her local Salafi mosque for help and they told her he was a "good muslim" and essentially told her to get out for "ruining" his life. This was in Birmingham. I can tell you all about their shenanigans. A lot of the Madinah students are something else too.

A lot of the Millenial Single Moms in the UK were married to these Salafi types.

Most Sunni Muslims follow the Ash’ari and Maturidi schools of Aqeedah (and Sufi Tariqah’s) whereas modern day Salafis ascribe themselves to the Hanbali/Athari school of Aqeedah. The Atharis/Hanbalis historically have been rivals of the Ash’aris and Maturidis and considered them to be innovators and deviants and modern day Salafis take most of their inspiration from the Hanbali scholar/theologian by the name of Ibn Taymiyyah and the founder of modern day Salafism (Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab) was inspired by the methodology of Ibn Taymiyyah. Most Islamic scholars throughout history have been apart of the Ash’ari and Maturidi schools of Aqeedah and Sufism (Tassawuf and it’s various Tariqah’s) historically dominated the lands of the Muslims.

The Salafi Dawah places a huge emphasis on condeming what they believe to be “Bid’ah” and “Shirk” which includes popular practices such as seeking the intercession of the saints (Tawwasul or Istighathah), building tombs for the Awliyah, celebrating the Mawlid of the Prophet ﷺ etc which would put them at odds with many Sunni Muslims.

Major scholars have always allowed Tassawul, do somali sufis know that they're calling most somalis in the past 1000 years kafirs? Malaysia/Indonesia are Muslims because of Sufi missionaries, actually most missionaries back then were Sufi.
