It does not actually speak of those who have actually committed crime at all. It shows the accused person by immigration background.
Only a fraction of those accused of crime is actually found guilty. So what the article is actually doing is presuming guilt of crime based on immigrant background on the basis of them being accused.
They are also counting a number of potential offenses from very few suspected individuals/groups and not the proportion of each individual in the population groups as a whole. So 160-380 per 1000 , doesn't mean 160-368 separate individual Somalis, Ethiopians or Iraqis are accused of offenses but only the number offenses , so 1 person can commit/suspected of 50 thefts by himself or a single gang etc
When you see the top 9 nationalities after Somali its all African and Muslim countries.
Outside of obvious social economic factors that might underpin this, like refugee status.
Since this is about accusation/suspecting of crime and not guilt of crime this may rather show systemic factor in law enforcement targeting Africans/Muslims and Somalis being a combo of both , it wouldn't be surprising to that we are at the top of the totem pole for ethnic profiling.

To be honest, Somali men are overrepresented in crime statistics in all Western coutries. Only, in Africa and the Middle East, Somalis are viewed as model minorities.
The reasons are twofold. First, Somalis and darker skinned and so moreoften subject to scrutiny and profiling, leading to higher rates of detection. Second, there are undeniable socioeconomic factors contributing to higher rates of criminality per capita in the Somali community. These include poverty, societal disenfranchisement, ghettoization, more prevalent broken homes, higher rates of mental illness, language barriers (reading, speaking, and writing skills), and experiences of abuse or marginalization, which together create a cocktail of risk factors for criminal behavior among Somali male youth.
One thing you'll see in Somalis in the middle east is that they live in Islamic societies, everyone of them speaks Arabic to a high degree and is integrated in society. They work and are active in society, and have bonds and friendship in those societies. You see that less in the west.

Theres tons of sudju kenyaatis here who said somali to claim asylum. The irony is somalis that actually are honest gets declined asylum, because they leave paper trail. It's selection bias, I'd say. Somalis in the west tend to be overrepresented by refugees. Poorly educated, poorer Somalis or the offspring of such are overrepresented. A lot grow up in public housing and not great conditions like typical marginalized and poor ethnic minorities so it checks as to why they turn to crime.
The ones in African countries outside of the ones we have ethnic territories in then in the Arab world as well as the rest of Asia got there with their lacag and skills 90% of the time. I grew up in the Khaleej (UAE). You can't be an immigrant in the UAE unless you 1) Own a business or 2) Have a job and a work visa. Immediate deportation otherwise. So, the Somalis there are generally going to be, like myself, people who own businesses or have a certain skillset that warrants a hire and visa or the offspring of such people. The Somali kids I grew up with were overwhelmingly the children of middle class to affluent working people. Doctors, cops, business owners, millionaires with major shares in prominent companies back in Somalia and so on.

Makes sense I always wondered where these crimes are coming from when we don’t see it (I’ve seen it in london) but it’s not bad as other ethnic groups. There’s no way somalis are the worse in crime especially with our values compared to others
Eritreans, Kenyans, Ethiopians , Ugandan and sometimes even Tanzanians. They are not only the same nationalities that claim assylum under Somali but also join terror/crime orgs in Somalia were they are now over represented, and Somali membership in them are lower.
They don't even check to see that the assylum seekers are actually from the countries they claim to be from. They just assume them to be Somali and record them as such meanwhile they have names like ''Gebre'' and ''Naitsoka'' .
I don't know if it's most, but it probably is a good portion of them.
When you do look at the actual crime that Somalis speciicially do commit it's like petty stuff and they underrepresented in violent crime or major crime offenses and those types are exceptional cases in most respects.
Report them to immigration ASAP
Don't they get interviewed by a Somali interpreter? Have you tried reporting them?
The guys in the newspaper report are asylum seekers who will be deported. The current asylum seeker situation is much more strict as in they have actual Somalis interview you now
