I'm comparing them to my parents who came to U.S in 1992 and who were/are not popping out 5+ kids and not working saxib. I clearly stated in my earlier comments that I'm not talking about recent refugees/immigrants of Somalia - I'm talking about the majority that came in 1990's. So how long does it take for some to gain employment in the U,S? 2 years, 10 years, whole generation?

Yeah in 2014, the U.S only accepted 9,000+ Somalis. However, the birthrate of my generation is higher and if they do better, these statistics should go up. Also, the Somali community(if they're not doing this already) - need programs where these new people can learn the language, get jobs and move up in their companies to gain raises in their income and having them learn how to have safe sex.

Like I said in a previous comment, not all Somalis came here recently. I’m mostly addressing Somalis that came here in the 1990’s like my parents and they both did pretty okay and don’t have any college degrees, so aren’t the rest the same? I don’t see the point of saying “war torn country” – I can understand young adults coming recently, but older Somalis had some kind of education and only spent 2 years in a refugee camp (those who came between 1992-1996) – unless you’re saying they have psychological problems.

The study you posted doesn't differentiate between new arrivals and those that arrived in the 1990s ( they are also new arrivals btw if you compare them to other ethnic groups in the US). What you are saying can't be directed from the study because it is simply not stratified based on arrival. Take some statistics class sxb.

I’m also reading that many high school drop outs go into trades – which most pay pretty well. But, all these things are not things I can take as objective until deeper studies are done on it.

This is nothing more than baseless speculation on your part. Unless you have actual facts to support your assertions, they are meaningless. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely white high school dropouts come from households that have money locked away in swiss bank accounts or come from that "old" money. Education and wealth are highly correlated, and those folks who come from that "old money" are generally going to the ivy leagues. The Bush family and the Yale educated genius that is George W. There are whites in engineering jobs (without the p eng requirement) and finance jobs as well, but are you trying to tell me with a straight face the average white is going to get around HR these days and their hundreds of lists of requirements without a degree and experience because of the number of whites you can literally count on both hands that are doing it? That is not how statistics work, my friend. We are talking about the typical white high school dropout here, not Michael Faradays of the world.

Also, these assertions do nothing to disprove the fundamental argument I am making here. East-Asians do not seem to suffer the same quantifiable barriers to employment that most other ethnic groups, in particular Hispanics and blacks, seem to suffer. Ergo, all of your pseudo-explanations of "networking" and "trades" are worthless. There you also go again with bigging up your profession, as if the average programming job requires you to be deriving the second and third order corrections to perturbative quantum fields in curved space. The average CS graduate is more than equipped to handle most programming and software jobs.
