@seldiboy as u even admitted everyone wants power and theirs only 1 govt, why not just create a loose confederation where everyone goes back to their region rather then re-centralizing further as people are distrustful of different groups in power, the reason ethio collapsed was 1 colonial style emulated highly centralized govt while isolating others from power and abi is repeating the same situation is baffling.

The Ethiopians are already too mixed up. Oromos and Amharas especially are spread across. There would be pogroms on the first day. This is also ignoring the administrative issues with confederations. Allocation of resources becomes cumbersome and bureaucratic. There are many more avenues for corruption. Ultimately, some ethnic groups will perform poorly while others will thrive in this system. Internal migration then occurs and we are back at square 1. Eritrea manages fine without ethnic strife. What Ethiopia needs is someone to come in and crush any dissent immediately. Imagine someone like Mengistu who isn’t communist nor Imperialist

Tigrayans are finished in all sense. They won't ever dare to pick up arms again. At least now, as their region is still occupied by Amharas and Eritreans.

One of the major reason Amharas are against disarming is that they don't want to leave western Tigray. As well as the possibility of a major war against Oromos.

This may be irrelevant to this thread. But clashes are ongoing in Cobasha and Koore in Babili, Oromia, with Somalis/Oromos for the second day in a row. The local Somalis have claimed that armed Oromos have targeted them. Half a dozen casualties reported thus far. Seems like these conflict will never end :francis:

The smartest thing for Amharas to do is secede, I wonder if they understand how bad their situation is. They have the lowest fertility while being the least urbanized and are the 3rd poorest region.

Amhara won the battle but Tigray won the war without firing a bullet. Xabeshi hatred is on another stratosphere :ileycry:

Off topic but in countries like Somalia and Ethiopia does Urbanisation lead to decreased fertility rates?

Amhara pushing propaganda saying Somalis are part of their resistance. Crazy in the dunya.

There can only be peace in Itoobiya if the neftegna are wiped out :fittytousand:

Urbanisation leads to decreased fertility everywhere. It’s more expensive to raise kids in urban areas and they generally aren’t an asset to have in urban areas either

Oromos seizing power in Ethiopia might just fasten the balkanisation of the country. Other ethnic groups are threatened by them. Abiy must be a clone of Meles Zenawi in order to keep the country together.
