I volenteer in after school homework help program which students from all backgrounds come to and a on & off assistant helper in dugsi on the weekend. Somali parents come to us all the time and since i'm a Somali in their kids age range they feel like they can get a sense of understanding from me about their own kids situation and some trust me to influence them.
From what ive seen Somali parents are trying their best, they even talk to their kids and they are not any different than South Asian parents like (tamils,pakistanis,Indians,bangladeshis) or arab parents ive met. Yet south asians & arab kids are doing better than us and ive actual been to their households since i was friends with many growing up. The problem i found is the complete disunity and lack of real community. The civil war and the ills our parent took with them is affecting the youth really bad. Somalis youth try to compete with eachother when they should be helping eachother and uplift eachother. They should compete with other high rising ethnic groups. There is a climate of mistrust and many do not consider eachother walaalos and as for those who do go off to university and college many have very inflated egos and individualistic mindsets and all they are concerned about is money & appealing to ajanabis or acting superior to other somalis with their so called new found enlightenment.

From my observation of the indha yar. They have a lot of tutoring centers and programs that cater to their ethnic group. I know a gabar she used to go to a Korean tutoring center right after school. I didn't even know it existed? There's apparently a Chinese college near my house in the lower half of a center. I was like "?", and then I knocked on the door it was apparently closed that day. Then I went on the website and it was all in Chinese. I remember in upper half of a building they had a Korean store, it offered Korean ESL classes and within that place there was a technical computer class as well. You wouldn't have known it's existed because the fliers on the top are Korean. They have a lot of Korean stores I observe in my area, but most of the shet they sell is counterfeit products, and no one goes there. There was actually a boutique I remember going to and it had really nice shoes and pants, but like what the f*ck everything was like $100 and more. I can find the same type of clothes elsewhere in a much cheaper price. They love to rip each other off. They're also xasids in my opinion. Most the indha yar have white girl names like Brittany, Elizabeth ,Angie and Amy. I'm not sure if it's because they're largely Christian or if that's just a thing amongst them. Growing up with many indha yar, a lot of them used to cheat in school, they also don't seem to have a moral backbone whatseoever. I mean some of them are chill, but some of them are disturbed. I knew one indha yar kid he had all A's and was a smart kid, he started involving himself in hard core drugs. You might question how can be doing so well, but involving himself in drugs? I don't think I'd ever see a Somali change their name like that too, even it was hard to pronounce, I can imagine one getting criticized for it. I mean when indha yar came here, they were seen as immoral and strange, even weird looking, but over time they've become a respectable community. I don't believe Somalis largely as an ethnic community are trouble or are troubled people as minorities, but I don't know much about the communities in Toronto- I mean I can think of worst people, those communities have been there longer in my opinion, but they've been predisposed to the culture and the communities. Like the latinos for example some of them are worse then Black Americans. I mean you see a lot of illegal ones, stories of them raping women living in housing projects through illegal means. lol, I remember growing up my mom if she saw one of them or was passing by some of them in the alleys, she'd say walk fast or something. Once, I saw lots of them drinking alcohol near the woods in my house, and this route was the only way for me to go home, now they're were 10 of them. But I ran through as fast as I could. Most of the kids who would get pregnant first were them, some of them don't know the practice of chastity, whatseoever. They're born through bastard means. When I would go to school, I'd see lots of broken glass beer bottles. Everytime, I go to a convinience I see the illegal minorities who barely known english stack up on tons of beer. This doesn't apply to all of them, but the ones straight of the border who have come here through illegal means particularly the men. Some of them want a better life, but some of them are twisted motherfuckers. Some of them didn't last past seventh grade until getting suspension of some type ,into crime or getting pregnant. Even in their countries they're are gang wars. I mean most of my peers are first generation Somalis. Somalis haven't been in the West as long, but recently I saw a Somali learning institute in D.C., caters in Somali language and culture. But the class is $105, but I would like to sign up for it. There's also a dugsi in our area, which is hotspot for many parents, each student is like $400, and the center is fairly small. It's owned by a Somali man . But one of the students had the honor of going to Saudi Arabia I think in competing in some type of Qur'an recitation contest. Somalis in our community are respectable bunch. I mean when Indha yar started coming here, people thought of them as parasites who steal everything and who eat dogs and cats, with absolutely no morals, but over time they've become a respected community. Slowly, I see such organizations catering to Muslims and Somalis in our area. Recently, there was a mentorship program created in our community for the several Muslims in our area, because you see Jews and indha yar having communities like that; it's aims is to link the several mosque in our area together as a type of connection network to help Muslim students in terms of their career choices in the future. I'm sure if you asked someone about Somalis here from an ajanabi, I think they wouldn't have anything negative to say. Personally, I've never been discriminated against for my race or culture. Also, the Somalis here like to talk a lot and hate on you. I mean if you f*ck up, they'll tell your hooyo and they snitch fast. Somalis are a bit upfront too. If you don't wear hijab or abayo, their going to be like that gabar walks around naked. (maybe I stretched from the topic a bit lol, but I just had free time and wanted to speak on my own experiences, )

The SJW girls are limited numbers (10)most are underachievers, if you checked them did not go to university, some small community college and blame the white man for their problems. Trying to blend into virtual world in Twitter. They are far away from Somalia issues all that had to do with come color in western culture.

Nevertheless I still think the issue with the youth is still troubling. I wish for a more deepseated debate on this and Somalis actually doing the research themselves. Organizing ways for people to help. This is serious and should be treated as such.
I do speak from a place of experience and reflection, but I don't like how some try to mislead people with this "white man is to blame" narrative like you said.
